What do you get when you cross a fashion stylist and a graphic designer? A rad minimalistic and oh-so-modern apartment, that’s what.
Step inside Shane and Lenya’s expertly styled apartment which houses white minimalism and in your face pops of colour. I LOVE IT! The best part about the styling is everything is a creative collaboration between wife and husband. Awwww.
Watch the video below for some great styling tips and prepare to fall in love with clean white lines all over again.
Here’s a bonus… if you loved Lenya and Shane’s style, below are some links to shop some of their favourite pieces! (You’re welcome and no I’m not sorry bank accounts, think of them as investments or perhaps creative collaboration therapy for couples…)
There’s nothing like decorating with tan leather to add warmth and sophistication to your room. It’s old world but at the same time can be modern. It can be used on mass, for example with a couch; or as a little hint like an accessory with leather details. I have my beloved tan leather butterfly chair with copper legs in my lounge room (as you are all well aware now…) and it adds so much glam to the room. People traditionally think anything leather is super expensive, but below I have found some leather accents for your home that are affordable!
A few weeks ago I attended the opening of Living Edge’s new showroom at the Woolstores in Alexandria with my mate Paul. If you’re ever sipping soy lattes at The Grounds I highly suggest you walk a block up and check it out. And here’s a pic of Paul and I pretending to be models, discussing design over whisky. because that’s what we do. Well, Paul’s not pretending.
I saw all my favorite things; blonde timber, tan leather, greys, mints, pastel pinks, golds and white marble. Everything is so sleek. I literally thought I died and went to heaven. It must have been, with that amazing cheese table I stood at for half an hour. (Yes there are many cheese tables in heaven or so I imagine) But lets be honest, I had a serious lust problem that night. I WANTED IT ALL.
These are items you’ll save up for and love forever. Literally forever. They will last the design ages, trust me.
Here is my list of lust haves….. (maybe you can combine my birthday and Christmas presents to get one of these for me?)

So I was super inspired and quite obsessed with Hannah’s apartment last week I decided to dedicate a colour palette to her! Congrats Hannah, you’ve made Stylelingual history. The colours I’ve run with are her gelato hues of pink, peach, orange and yellow with the neutral of grey. Because grey is the new beige.
The pinks and peaches are soft and dreamy while the yellow and orange punch through to stop it from becoming too sickly sweet. I know I bang on about bringing colour in through accessories and Hannah’s place is such a great example of it.
Pick out colours from artworks and other investment pieces like a floor rug. She has cleverly brought out the colour through the cushions on her couch. When she is ready to move on she can simply swap them out to another colour without turning her whole living room upside down.
And she strikes again in her lovely bedroom carrying through that same palette, with natural whites, creams and blacks to balance it out.
These colours look fab in Hannah’s eclectic apartment but they also lend themselves to a scandi and contemporary styles. Just use hints of the colours, you don’t have to go all out. If you want to add in another colour teal works in so well. And yes, I didn’t include a metallic in my colour palette (gasp) but copper and gold works in really well with these colours as it picks up those warm golden and peachy pink hues.
